The 2023 District V Conference is being hosted by the Brevard County MTA at Cross Bridge Church, 651 Barnes Blvd., Rockledge, FL. We invite all members of District V, as well as friends and students, to come together to meet one another, to learn from our shared experiences, and to gain knowledge from our speaker and esteemed master teacher.
Dr. Marie Jureit-Beamish, Professor Emerita of Music and former Charles Stewart Harding Mott Distinguished Professor of Music, will be our guest speaker and Master teacher.
“In the Footsteps of Mozart”
”In the Footsteps of Mozart” with Mozart specialist, Dr Marie Jureit-Beamish, Professor Emerita of Music from Principia College, who has just returned from leading back-to-back journeys from Salzburg to Prague with Mozart as the focus. She will also separate fact from fiction in the iconic movie AMADEUS.
Over her expansive 40-year college teaching career, she frequently taught classes on “The Creative World of Mozart” to students of all ages.

Guest Speaker
Dr. Marie Jureit-Beamish, Professor Emerita of Music and former Charles Stewart Harding Mott Distinguished Professor of Music, will give an inspirational talk entitled “In the footsteps of Mozart”. She has just returned from leading back-to-back journeys in Salzburg to Prague with Mozart as the focus. She will also separate fact from fiction in the iconic movie AMADEUS. Over her expansive 40-year college teaching career, she frequently taught classes on “The Creative World of Mozart" to students of all ages.
Dr. Marie Jureit-Beamish joined the faculty of Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, in 1978, becoming Professor Emerita of Music upon her retirement in 2014. In addition to a demanding teaching schedule, she has maintained a very active performing career as a flutist, pianist, chamber musician, conductor, and accompanist, appearing in some of the finest concert halls in the U.S. and abroad. She has shared her love of music in a variety of ways, both nationally and internationally. She has led several music trips abroad to the music capitals of Europe for both college students and adult education students. In April 2009, she was awarded the only Lifetime Achievement Award granted by the Martin County Arts Council in Florida for her outstanding contribution to the betterment of the community through her devotion to the arts. She is the founder and director of The Jureit Musicales, presenting national, international, and local talent to hundreds of members of the Treasure Coast of Florida.
Dr. Jureit-Beamish earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and French, from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts from Stanford University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Yale School of Music.
